1. If you are using the macromedia flash version 8 then there are three kinds of glow effects which are knockout, glow and inner glow. You can choose whatever suits you the most.

2. First of all open a new template of flash document either by going to the file menu and new or you can use the short cut key (Ctrl+n) at any time for faster processing.

3. Now write down the Text which you want to make it appear glowing over the screen with the help of text editor. In this case we have use “GLOW” as letter which will be used as the glowing letter. Hereafter go to filter tab which is very next to the properties tab. In this tab you can set the parameters like blur effect in x and y axis. Even you can set the strength, color of the text the way you want and like.
